About The Verve Store

The size chart is where most of it goes wrong

You order a medium. A medium arrives. It doesn’t fit.

Not because anyone lied — because “medium” isn’t a measurement. It’s a guess that varies by brand, by factory, sometimes by production run. And when the only information on the page is a letter, the only way to find out is to order it and see.

That’s why clothing has the highest return rate of anything sold online, and why most people have a drawer full of things that were nearly right.

The Verve Store is built around fixing that one thing.

What we sell

Shoes — trainers, running shoes, sneakers, sandals and everyday footwear.

Apparel — t-shirts, shirts, hoodies, trousers and jackets for ordinary days.

Sportswear — training tops, leggings, shorts, tracksuits and performance layers.

Fitness — the gear that goes with it: bands, mats, gloves, bottles, grips.

Bags — backpacks, gym bags, crossbody bags, totes and travel luggage.

Premium Collection — a smaller edit where the fabrics and the finishing justify the price.

Six categories, each stocked deliberately. We’d rather carry a range we can describe accurately than a catalogue nobody has handled.

What we do about sizing

Real garment measurements on every page. Chest, length, shoulder, sleeve, waist, inseam — in centimetres, taken flat. Not just S, M, L. Measure something you already own that fits, compare the numbers, and you’ll know before you order.

Footwear in actual length. Shoe sizing is the worst offender in retail — a 42 differs between brands by up to a full size. So we list the insole length in centimetres alongside the labelled size. Measure your foot, match the number.

Fit described honestly. Slim, regular, relaxed, oversized — and which it runs closer to if it sits between. If something comes up small, that’s on the page, not in the reviews.

Fabric composition stated. 100% cotton behaves differently from a poly blend — how it breathes, how it holds shape, whether it shrinks. You should know which you’re buying.

How we choose what to stock

Does the construction hold? Seam quality, stitch density, zip and hardware. The things that fail at month three rather than week one.

Does the fabric last a season? Pilling, colour fade, shape loss after washing. A top that looks good once isn’t a top, it’s a photo.

Does the sizing match the chart? If a supplier’s measurements don’t match what arrives, we don’t stock them. This disqualifies more products than anything else on this list.

Is the price honest for what it is? Not the cheapest. The point where the price and the garment agree.

Fail one of these and it doesn’t go up. Collect the same complaint twice in reviews and it comes down.

What we won’t do

We won’t call everything premium. Some of our range is good value at a modest price and some is genuinely better made. Both are worth buying — for different reasons — and pretending otherwise insults everyone.

We won’t invent urgency. No countdown timers, no “4 left in your size” when there are forty. If stock is genuinely short, we’ll say so because it’s true.

We won’t hide the fit problems in the reviews. If a jacket runs narrow in the shoulders, that belongs in the description. Finding out from a three-star review after you’ve ordered is a worse experience for you and a return for us.

What you can expect

Measurements on every page. Clear delivery times and a returns policy written in plain language, before checkout. And an answer if you ask — about fit, about which size to take, about whether something runs true. Send us your measurements and we’ll tell you honestly. We’d rather spend five minutes on that than process a return.

What’s next

We’re building the range slowly: start focused, listen to what customers say about fit and wear in real use, and expand where there’s a genuine gap rather than a trending product.

If there’s something you’ve been hunting for and can’t find, tell us. Customer requests are the clearest stocking signal we get.

The Verve Store. Fits properly. Lasts longer.
